Been awhile since my last journal entry. I suppose the explanation for that would be I'm not as active in commenting on people's art. The same could be said about submitting art myself, it's been awhile (my scanner deciding not to work doesn't help things either). I think this has to do with my nature when commenting on someone's work- I don't want to leave a ordinary and short comment, at least for most things I view. Which leads me to not leaving many comments at all!
Heh.. I have so many bookmarked, In which to give them a proper critique when I get around to it. Yet, I appear to bookmark more art than I give a thought through comment to, so I can get them out of the way. For productivity's sake I should really go through them and measure up what wholly deserves a comment compared to what can just be let go, for whatever reason that may be.
Or, I could just delete all the bookmarks for them and cut the Ctrl+D habit down a little.

There's so much great art on this site, it really would drain a great deal of my time trying to give even a fraction of the great art an extensive or short, well-thought-out critique. Perhaps it's just my perfectionism kicking too hard, making things for more difficult than they really are... I tend to think so.
On a different subject (yet still connects to commenting a fair bit) the pageview counter really does show it's true purpose when you haven't really done anything on DA for awhile, beside what you already have posted up- Traffic, nothing more. From what I remember I had about 1000 views when I stopped adding anything more to my page, yet now I have about 228 more views. It does make me wonder how (and why) people, in general, stumble upon my page in particular. Very few actually comment there or in my art comments section, so I could only assume it's because of something I had submitted and even less about my journal topics. 200 odd views isn't really much at all, I know this, but it does make me wonder. There was no further effort involved, that's for sure.
A great bulk of the art I've done is not on the web, which could be explained by me having much more experience in traditional mediums than digital, that I know at least my way around in okay enough. And anything that is submitted to this site (the only site so far)could be considered far more digital in nature than traditional (digital line clean-up and colouring). I draw just about everything by hand though. Which isn't to say there won't be more submitted art in the future, just that it could be a "whenever I feel like it" situation...
So leave a comment if the urge takes you, I 'will' go about replying to it, even if I'm not too active here as of this moment, heh heh.
Congratulations on your approaching 1000th pageview! (I just hit mine last month)
I very much like the flowing lines of the stylized 'Flight'! Very nice!

Art is the birth from the hands to counter the death of the heart. It's the only place I can truly lose 'myself', and become... more than me. ~JRL~
I haven't checked my page for awhile now, which is why I didn't reply to you sooner.
And I'm glad you liked the style of 'Flight', that's my personal favourite submission to date.
